Jamie Orchard is the Senior Anchor for Global Montreal's Evening News, Monday-Friday at 6pm.
During her nearly two decades covering news in Montreal, Jamie has been there for every major story – including the ice storm, the riots at the Summit of the Americas and the Dawson College shootings.
The Evening News with Jamie as anchor was named Best Newscast in Eastern Canada by the Radio/Television News Directors Association in 2007 and earned the award for best breaking news coverage in 2006.
Jamie is a graduate of Concordia University's journalism program, and reported at CTV and CBC before finding her true home at Global Montreal.
When she's not anchoring, Jamie devotes her time to a number of charitable causes including the Action Foundation, a centre for physically and mentally challenged Montrealers.
In 2004, she was named one of Montreal`s most remarkable women by the Board of Trade of Montreal, she was a finalist in the YWCA Women of merit gala in 2007, and in 2008 she won the Izzy Asper Community Service Award for her work with the Action Centre.
Jamie was born in Brossard, Que., and lives in Montreal with Jean-Luc and their two children, Luc and Liam.
